General description

The construction dates to 1854, when Simeon Balint (1818-1880) built the house and annexes. The parish house probably extends previous the building. The cellar and one of the rooms that preserves a special coating – vault with penetrations, were kept.
The parish house is part of a typology of traditional construction with ”tarnat”, but has a more complex functional scheme due to

historical changes.
The main facade use to preserve bosses plaster on corners, flat pilasters with bases and cornices, a strong cornice and shaped plaster models around the windows until five years ago. Unfortunately, now they are all covered with PVC paneling. It is possible that this operation destroyed massive historical decoration.
On the side façade there is a memorial plaque, baring a marble inscription : “S-a redicatu aceste case parochiale/ la anul 1854 prin stăruinţa şi intervenirea parochului şi proptopopului/ SIMEON cav(aler) de BALINTH/Ne sis posteritas ingrata!”.

The house is listed as historical monuments of the Alba County, position 472 , code AB- II -mB- 00269 .
