How can you support the Adopt a House program in 2025?
We are quickly getting ready for the start of the 14th edition of the Adopt a House program at Roșia Montană! In less than two weeks, we will welcome the first group of volunteers: in total, 60 volunteers have been selected from over 100 applicants and will take part in activities to preserve and promote the local heritage.
In addition to the hands-on restoration work specific to our program, we are also preparing presentations, hikes, guided tours, and demonstration workshops for the general public, supported by special guests and local craftsmen. We will announce these here along the way.
Among this year’s objectives:
▪︎ Completing the intervention at the Chapel of St. Ladislaus Roman-Catholic Church in Roșia Montană
▪︎ Completing the repairs of the specific furniture (pulpit, altar table, etc.) and reinstalling them in the Reformed Church
▪︎ Maintenance work at the volunteer base – the Unitarian Parish House
Added to these, at the top of the waiting list, is an ambitious goal: re-roofing the former local casino with wooden shingles – a large project that has been difficult to finance so far.
💚 💚 💚 We admit, we’re not the best at asking for help or promoting what we have managed to do continuously since 2007. But now is the time to ask for your support, as this year our efforts to fund activities have not yet found the necessary solutions. Still, we are confident that we will succeed together. 💚 💚 💚
