The construction as preserved dates back to 1935 when the roof and the first floor were was rebuilt. In its previous form, the construction had architectural elements specific to the early 20th century – pediment in the center of the façade, roof in two waters. The ground floor probably dates back even earlier, conserving tracks of the a Vella voulting system.

The building, an important local heritage house of Rosia Montana, has hosted over the years the village hospital, and probably the bank or the cinema. The house is listed as historical monument of Alba County, position 486, code AB-II-mB-00285.

3. Major work chapters needed

The building is currently used for hosting tourists. The room at the ground floor was rehabilitated with the help of the participants at the ARA summer schools and the efforts of the owner. In order to operate in optimal conditions, the accommodation must be placed reorganized so it will relate better with the bathroom. Space for such a service can be arranged outside the room in the area where today functions a closet. On the northern wall of the room traces of a door are preserved. This door will be re-opened, because tody is blocked.

Access to the property must be redesigned accordingly to the historical character of the building. The exterior of the building (facades) require maintenance. Also, replacing the tin roof with a shingle one will play an important role in giving the building its historical aspect back.
